El patrono de los periodistas fue un escritor que se distinguió por decir la verdad con elegancia y sin herir a nadie, por escribir y hablar con tanta delicadeza que nadie se sentía molesto; un escritor y orador que no buscaba el morbo sino la transmisión de la simple y llana verdad evangélica. Y supo comunicar la idea de que todo lo auténticamente humano es cristiano.
Pidamos la intercesión de San Francisco de Sales por una renovación en el periodismo actual, esta profesión tan importante y que hoy padece la carencia de libertad de prensa. Prueba de ello es que a pesar que las poblaciones de nuestros pueblos son religiosas y cristianas, vemos que los medios practicamente en su totalidad dan un discurso antireligioso y anticristiano.
